Raízen Will Need to Renegotiate Part of Its R$25 Billion in Tax Liabilities

Raízen’s financial restructuring has brought to light an increasingly relevant topic in the corporate environment: the strategic impact of tax liabilities on business sustainability.

With approximately R$25 billion in tax contingencies, the company has indicated that negotiating part of these liabilities will be a key step in completing its restructuring plan. Among the main issues under discussion are disputes involving PIS/Cofins and ICMS taxes, matters that reflect the complexity of Brazil’s tax litigation landscape.
